Sixty successful scholarship students from across Türkiye came together during a special programme organised by Lokman Hekim Health Foundation on Büyükada. The students rested, learned and took part in a cultural journey.
Held from 19 to 22 August 2024, the programme brought together medical students from different cities. Staying at the Büyükada Beltur facilities gave them time away from the pressures of daily life and an opportunity to build new friendships.
Foundation founder Dr Ayhan Tokgöz joined the students for conversations on traditional and modern medical practice, managing stress in medicine and violence against healthcare professionals. He shared his experience, answered questions and offered guidance for their professional development.
The students also visited the Museum of the Princes' Islands, where they explored the islands' history with museum guides. Group activities and games strengthened the sense of community throughout the programme.
Foundation President Leyla Şeker emphasised that the foundation aims not only to help educate successful physicians, but also to support socially responsible individuals who are engaged with culture and the arts.
